Next Step: Leadership!

Do you want to take your Key Club experience to the next level? Then a position with the Carolinas District of Key Club might be for you!

On this banner, you'll see that Ravenscroft has had many Lt. Governors over the last 10 years. There are badges to represent their service working to grow Key Club with others from around North and South Carolina.

College Admissions counselors know these positions show a level of commitment beyond even the local club, you will grow as a leader by challenging yourself to go beyond our local club. Read what one Lt. Governor had to say about the experience:

“I spent 12 months on the Carolinas District Board but the memories and the lessons I learned have lasted far beyond that single year. To be on the district board means to challenge yourself, to go beyond yourself and inspire others to lead and serve. I would never give up the people I met during my term or the person I am because of Key Club. I made irreplaceable friendships and developed leadership and communication skills I use every single day.”

This is the ideal role for a freshman or sophomore, allowing for growth later in the local club or on the district board. Our own Sarah Lowery, top left, ran for Lt. Governor in the spring of her sophomore year and then became our club President the spring of her junior year. The term goes from March to March, like our club officerships. Cory Carr, right, also served as Lt. Governor as a sophomore/junior and is now about to finish his term as District Editor, writing newsletters and maintaining the website for thousands of Key Clubbers in North Carolina.

Juniors, we know you can do this too, realizing that you will need to manage time in your senior year for this commitment. Zoe and Cory will be happy to answer any questions you have. Zoe Strafford-Price, left, has been a terrific Lt. Governor this year, making friends and traveling to International Convention!

If you're interested, read through this packet from the Carolinas Key Club website, especially the commitment on page 10. Mrs. Thrash can help you and your parents understand the commitment. Elections will be this Sunday, January 31 at 2 PM in our Library. You'll need to prepare a 1 minute speech about your experience as a Key Clubber at Ravenscroft!
