January 12 - Warmth for Wake, for ages 16+, is a Wake County Human Services program, providing in-need households in and around Raleigh with free firewood from November through March. For many households, fireplaces and wood-burning stoves are the only sources of heat.
Volunteers (with pickup trucks, chainsaws and splitters, if possible) cut and split wood on site, deliver wood to recipients and, sometimes, collect wood from area donors. Saturday, January 19 Gleaning for Collard Greens -Meet in the lot at
Ravenscroft at 8:45 AM and return by 1:30 PM. We are hoping to have at
least 14 on one bus, and if there are any teachers who would like to drive, we
could secure a second mini bus and fill it! These Collard Greens will go
to hungry families in Wake County by the end of the day on Saturday.

Tuesday, January 29, 2013 - Red Cross Blood Drive - In the Middle School Gym.
